Sonja Morgan (November 25,1963) is a fixture of New York City society, running in social circles that include European royalty and top-notch designers. Born Sonja Tremont as the eldest of four children in Albany, New York, her early life consisted of entering beauty pageants and shopping in Manhattan. After receiving a contract with a Florida modeling agency, Morgan attended New York's Fashion Institute of Technology marketing program, graduated and secured a position in the garment industry. Having jet-setted around the world and modeled in Paris and Milan, Sonja worked for multiple restaurants across the city as a consultant and manager and often brought in her famous friends to spice up these locales.
Sonja is the ex-wife of John Morgan, one of five sons of Henry S. Morgan (whose grandfather founded J.P. Morgan & Company), and single parent of a twelve-year-old daughter. Sonja loves art, decorating, gardening, skiing and visiting France every chance she gets – be it for her charity work or just for pleasure. Claiming that she has been working since she was 14 years-old, Sonja is also a movie producer and has projects coming out in the near future. Her glamorous life, however, has not been void of trouble. Her production company, Sonja Productions, was sued by Hannibal Pictures for breach of contract claiming that she agreed to finance their film, then backed out. The courts ruled in favor of Hannibal Pictures and ordered Sonja to pay. In June 2010, Sonja Morgan was arrested for DWI in Southampton, Long Island and will appear in court to face charges. She is currently still starring in the New York series of the Real Housewives.
